Deep fried mushy pea cakes???
I knew there was a reason I don't go to the chipper anymore!
Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink what comes out"?
Who was the first person to say, "See that chicken over there ... I'm gonna eat the first thing that comes out if its butt"?

No, if I have chips once a quarter (year, that is!), that'll do me nicely, thanks. And deepfried pineapple somehow doesn't quite rock my boat...

Are they battered?
Actually, I can imagine they could taste quite nice, even battered, provided they are made properly, i.e. with a tasty batter, fried in clean oil (not with the taste of fish, haggis and goodness knows what else on them
), drained off properly, so that the batter is crisp and not soggy, and the served, maybe, with some other fruit like cherries (which go very well with pineapple)... ANd NOT served with soggy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar!

Gorgeous they were!

Yes to the battered (that's what a fritter is, isn't it?) and I've never had one that tasted of haggis beforeina wrote:Are they battered?

Actually come to think of it, I'm talking boll*cks, it's the crispy banana fritters that I like, not the tinned pineapple ones!
