Quail laying age?
Hi all, Does anyone know what age Italian and Japanese quail start laying? We were told at 6 weeks they start to lay. Is this true? Ours are all 8 weeks and growing well and becoming really lovely happy friendly birds. They dont seem mature yet so wouldnt expect them to lay or does it not matter? Nick

Re: lpg
A decent LPG conversion will not make any difference to performance but imho you are wasting your time on a R32. I had an R34 with LPG and it was a waste of time. I currently have a 1970 Mustang with LPG and its sweet as a nut. Yet I only do 1000 miles a year in it, its my baby and my only non ish t...

Re: help with between floors insulation...
The only way youll do it is by getting something like Kingspan and slide it in. Just pray they havnt put any noggins in there otherwise youll be aout of luck sliding it anywhere.
If the builders were asked to do then, well they should do it. Have you spoken to them about it yet?

Re: Converting a metal trough
If you wanted to sand the surface of the steel then paint it (forced weathering) yes it would take but not for long. If we ever need to paint a galv steel we always use an etch prime as you know it will last. Etch prime is not the nicest stuff in the world tbh but you only need the lightest of coats...

Re: Converting a metal trough
Galvanised metals will just flake off normal water based paints after a few weeks. For a one-coat deal you would have to use something like Hammerite. The other option is Etch Primer then topcoat with whatever paint you want. Putting holes in the bottom will render the galv' coating usless in that a...

Ive finalised my design for the egg boxes. I shall be making the final HARD mould at the weekend and also making a few boxes to test it.

Re: Egg boxes?
Of course I will. I made up some very basic test samples today but having some more ideas this evening I will make some more tmw. My final mould/s will be of wooden construction to allow for 'In mould drying'. Hoping to have something ready by next week. Dont be envious, my knowledge and 'skill lol'...

Re: Homemade Solar Hot water panel and heat exchanger!
Ive finally managed to get some good info regarding homemade soalr panel and heat exchangers. Im going to speak to our head fabricator tmw re-HE. Hopefully during the summer I can start the construction of the set-up and can update this thread as I go. Eyes peeled people. This will be cheap to make ...
