Any issues with what nappies to buy, home schooling etc. In fact if you have kids or are planning to this is the section for you.

when will it end???!!!

Argh - Wednesdays are my days with the boys, we normally go swimming, then to the train station (I have a trainspotter for a son, what can I say...) then museum (It has a train carriage to sit in...you get the idea), etc.
Today though, I had a visit from a Health Visitor linked nursery nurse, to discuss ds1's toilet training or refusal of, then a disastrous trip to the allotment, and a home visit from the doctor to discuss ds2's persistent death rattle wheeze and the introduction of a steroid inhaler (and after two nights of NO sleep for me or him, he is now sleeping after one squoosh). The night is young, however, but I am not :confused4:
It just seems relentless, the constant administering of medicine, the rubbing on of cream, the tiresome drudge of the toilet training and then the dayglo nappies that ds2 produces. I find it hard to remain positive, in fact I find it hard to stay awake at times! Plus I am working part time, and having to get myself, the kids and the house sorted is rather unsatisfying also. Dh works 40 miles away, so by the time he is home there is about half an hour beofre the bedtime routine has to start.
I don't know what I expect to achieve by moaning like this, but today was a personal best for home visits and genearl crappiness. :?

Oh dear, CC - what can I say - you are obviously not having a good time! Can only try to send you a massive hug and some good vibes... Hope that at least you are all getting some sleep now.

Soon you will have teenagers and then young men - and you'll realise that this was but a blip in your joint history.
Your current trials won't continue, they will each manage to overcome their current difficulties - and there will be more and different trials in the future each with their own solution.

Enjoy your times with your babes :flower: childhood is all too short

I desparately want to enjoy them! It just seems like a lot of the time I am "servicing" them, in order for other people to enjoy them! Ds2 has resumed his screaming - I have been out of the house for a couple of hours and have got back to a stony faced, tight-lipped husband and a wailing infant. Incredibly the other one is still asleep!

There's some really sound advice here; http://www.askbaby.com/coping-sleepless-nights.htm

When i get stressed my neck and schoulders get tight and painful - does the OH know how to massage? Found this video on Idian head massage.

My mum says I was a little b*gg*r  , aparently I'd go purple, rigid and scream blue murder when put down to sleep. Lucky for her Nan & Grandad shared the house so grandad would walk up and down with me half the night til I dropped off.

Compared to me, my sister was so good, quiet and easily pleased that my mum kept waking her up to make sure she was ok! (She made up for it later though - her nickname was thumper!)

Sending healing thoughts

Well, ds2 has not stopped crying today except (traitor to greeness that he is) when I enforced some rest by driving him to the supermarket, both activites requiringhim to be strapped in/down. He prefers to pace around the rooms, hands behind back like Prince Philip, crying all the time, tripping over discarded Rice Krispies then crying all the louder as if to say "I'm tired! Why are you keeping me up?"
He has to have an extended stretch of steroid tablets, plus steroid inhaler, plus ventolin when necessary, plus the dreaded calpol, plus diprobase cream for the eczema, and occasional steroid cream on occasion....argh.
He is over a year, so it is not new baby crying, though thanks for the link. And I have stopped feeding him (which was unsatisfying this time around - 2 bouts of mastitis, toddler to look after aswell, lousy feeder, moan moan moan :bom: ) He is just poorly. He does enjoy being in his bed and isn't too bothered by things normally, but he has been drop-kicked this time by this particular chest infection/cold whatever.
It's just that we have been at Cuedoc at least once a week for the last four weeks, in hospital overnight once and at the doctors A LOT (not to mention jabs, asthmas clinic for ds1 etc etc).
Argh. That's what is so frustrating. Oh well, the alternative is to run away and I couldn't do that. I'll sleep when they go to college!

you poor thing, sometimes you get run ragged dont you,my 2 have had a virus which was M being under the weather for a week, going down with it,very poorly, high temp, delirious etc for a week & then a week under the weather recovering & howabout it  then E did the same,a week off colour a week ill,we are in the 5th week now & its from one lurgy :? Havent been to Plague Group for ages so cant even blame there for picking it up

I think sometimes its a combination of things, they get a bug,it hits with a cough or a growth spurt & general grumpiness & an awkward stage & before you know it every day is a battle

My ony advice would be to just keep muttering its a phase its a phase :?

Have you tried hemp oil on the little ones excema.I know terrible flare ups can need steriods,I currently have some cream for my hands as a last resort but lberal applcations of hemp oil work superbly.I get mine from Innocent Oils but you can also by Good Oil from supermarkets its a hemp cooking oil but I buy that huge bottle & douse my hair in it

Hope things have settled down by now for you,as for loo training, I have tried & given up & now just think one day they will sort themselves out, they flatly refuse to sit on the potty or loo now despite going thru a perioid of using it in the mornings
even the lure of pretty knickers with frogs on :cooldude: isnt washing with these 2 wretches

The little one has stopped being QUITE so ill, now he takes steroids - he is still pouring with snot most days, but at least seems better able to deal with a cold. The older one had a few weeks of being BRILLIANT, and is now showing signs of being tired all the time again, but I am sure is growth spurt (most trousers, even with no bum to keep them up are swinging round ankles now).
Toilet training - well, he does not usually rebel when told to go, and yesterday for the first time since re-starting volunteered that he was going and just went. He got a huge lairy shiny Thomas tank sticker and a chocolate egg (small one). Back to not telling today though.

I do love em to bits - they are both being quite affectionate at the moment, and ds2 has switched his big love to daddy so I am getting loads of cuddles from ds1 which I think has reasserted his security.

It was tough that time that I posted, but apart from ds2 HATING being outside unless he can freeze himself in the water tray, we are generally a happier household! Thanks for all the replies!
