Nowhere near self-sufficient, but want to be
Hi. I am new to this forum, and found it by accident when trawling for blogs. I live in East Anglia, and have a small suburban garden, in which I try to grow as much vegetables as possible. I am nowhere near self-sufficient, but this is an ideal to work towards. What I am working on is being thrifty, not only to save money, although that's an important consideration as i am on a low wage, but also as a political statement and to help the planet. I am inspired by the life and work of John Seymour, and by the ideas of Permaculture. One of the ways I want to become more self-sufficient is by taking on an allotment, which is something I am looking into at the moment. I am still a relative beginner, and my DIY skills are not up to much, so its difficult at the moment. I look forward to reading plenty of advice on this forum and the website.
