Am off up the lottie tonight to do just that - as a general guide when are you supposed to put them in by?
Mine took ages to germinate in the greenhouse and seems to be a slow off the mark.
I put a row in a few weeks ago and something has eaten all but two, but I have no idea what, so im putting what ive got let in, in a last attempt to have a crop (they are still really small at the mo - not quite the thickness of a pencil even...!)
Any ideas what might be munching at thenm?
Thanks

mine still look like grass.. so not holding a lot of hope out for leek harvest.. but nuffin ventured.. an all that
could be slugs munching them - go out with a torch at night.. they ate my red spring onions.. so they obviously do like that oniony flavour

Mine are tiny too, no idea how big they should be by now it's the first time we've done leeks (desite my OH moaning all he wants are leeks! Still watching them grow incredibly slowly will make him happy
)
I thought slugs weren't supposed to like onion & leek??? Its the only thing they didn't eat in my slug ridden garden
