Anyone got a mayonaise recipe?
I have been trawling the web for a really simple home made mayonnaise recipe one that can be made in a blender - then I thought that one of you lot might well have a good one.

Thanks anyway.

1 egg
1/2 tsp mustard
2tsp vinegar ( I used white)
salt and pepper
1/4 pt oil ( I used olive)
Break egg in to liquidiser, add mustard, vinegar and salt and pepper
Run liquidiser on full speed and slowly pur the oil through the hole in the top voila totally lush mayo !!
I have recently bought a Kenwood Chef and got this from the recipe book tried it out and it is really creamy but with the tang of vinegar yum yum yum

It is a while since I last made mayonnaise but, as I recall, the method was to take some egg yolks, add a pinch of salt and start whisking (... yes, cheating with an electric blender rather than relying on manual power). You then slowly begin adding olive oil. Initially that should be done a drop at a time but, as the emulsification starts to happen, you can start adding more generous quantities.
Like a lot of my recipes, amounts are rather vague! However, you can give it a twist by adding some chopped herbs from your garden - I found sorrel worked particularly well.

Thank you for those, I will try it out and see if I can mix the two recipes together to get an original recipe for the book. Cheers again.
