Elderflower Cordial
Elderflower Cordial
I have just made some Elderflower Cordial. It is lovely even though I say so myself. What I would like to know is how is best to keep it & how long does it keep?
Never put off 'til tomorrow what you can do today!

I made some for the first time this year... so dunno really - but I have put most of mine in the freezer. it doesn't seem to freeze down solid, so have used boxes rather than bottles.. as i dont want it oozing out over things!
hope the flavour stays
the rest is in the fridge

Storage
Hi,
I made some of this last year and very nice it was too, but the recipe said to drink within 3 weeks. Not sure why but it didn't last that long anyway.
Was hoping to make some this year but the recipe said to gather the flowers on a dry sunny day
Here's waiting... maybe in time for elderberry wine though

er - the coridal i made is like a syrup...
re storing it in the freezer - its not the expanding thats a problem, its that it did not freeze solid.. still liquid - and a bottle might get pushed over and then it drips onto other things. so i froze mine in boxes

not sure who you are asking.. but the recipe I used is this one which I choose cos i did not need a bucket etc.. managable quanities and ingredients I could find. its really very nice, but yet to find out how well the flavour keeps over time
