The boys & I scouted around Grandad's old shed and scavenged wood and stuff to build a raised bed which we filled with the multitudinous bags of compost that seem to have been hanging around the garden for ages. Then we built a basic cold frame out of 3 reclaimed stainless steel splashbacks, (from an old police station DH was involved in developing a couple of years ago - I knew they'd come in handy one day

We've planted some early carrots and shallots in the first bed and I've got to source some compost for the cold frame before we plant some cucumbers in there.
I think there'll be room for another 3 raised beds as long as I can scavenge enough stuff
