It's a good time to move your fruit bushes as long as the soil isn't frozen.

My alfalfa failed, miserably. The water just grew fungus.

Any idea why?

And any info of lentils and mung beans would be great.

Feel free to link me as I'm sure simple subjects have been covered already.

alfalfa

Hi there,

you have to keep the alfalfa in a jar with the bottom raised slightly, and in a warn temerature, i used the airing cupboard

you also have to wash them daily, the same applies to the lentils,

Mung beans are easier, i place mine in a magarine tub on a piece of tissue , then covered top with cling film and then newpaper, you can keep them anywhere, as long as they are kept covered.

hope this helps

I use a jar with muslin streached over the top and held on with a rubber band, soak the beans for 6 hrs in water then drain through the muslin and leave tipped up a bit so the water can run out. everyday fill the jar 2/3 fill of warm water and swish round then drain again.
keep doing this till th sprouts are big enough for you to munch on

When I read the title of this thread I thought you were going to ask what things are on your windowledge :) - my list would be too long to type :D

I fancy doing some sprouting seeds - I've got the seeds and have loads of jars. I will have a go this week.
