Millie - I was crying yesterday but for another reason, and I HATE it when that feeling takes over you.. However, it's good to have a good cry now and again and well. You still have us here at SSISH!!! OK maybe that's no consulation, but hey !!! Is there something you love doing - maybe gardening, that you could help people out with? Or are you good at crafts? Something you could sell on ebay or something. Maybe one or two days a week at a part time job wouldn't be so bad if it's something that you would find interesting... I love working at the vets as I love 99% of the clients/animals who come in - and feel their joy and pain along with them. Anyway, if you believe in it you need to stick to it but maybe try a few changes to see if they work. I'll quit waffling.

Also STONEHEAD, if you wouldn't be offended, my OH has some shirts he wants to get rid of - probably large/xl - I could send them to you by slow parcel post if you like. Otherwise they'd go to the charity or summit.... let me know.

No offence - I just missed a load of shirts on freecycle so they would be welcome. Thanks. Will PM you.

Millie,
I kind of understand what you were going through. I was once working for a large company & was desperately unhappy. Finally I took the rather drastic step of resigning to take up a voluntary post in a North African country I hadn't even visited before...Not a route I advise.

Recently, after 6yrs working for a great charity, I've not been working at all. Finances are difficult as I'm currently unable to work due to ill-health, but I do know that I never want to work full-time again & that I can live on a lot less than I used to think.

All I can say is hang in there, things do get better.
