I love the simple things really. Like feeling a winter sun gently warm your neck as you stand in the plyground waiting for the rugrats.
Watching the kids all getting on at the same time is bliss and a rare event too.
Seeing all the different birdies in my London garden, knowing that they come here because of what I do.
There is also something extra special watching my 3 year old son play hide and seek, he has Dwarfism so he can squeeze into spaces small enough for a kitten
and watching him dancing on the table makes me chuckle every time.

Re: Little things that really please you!
I love all those little things that are indicators of all the big good things in our lives.
A warm bath towel which means that our Heath Robinson homemade heat exchanger works, eating a meal cooked from the ingredients from the garden, my daughter sitting reading a book next to me on the sofa, seeing the beautiful sunrise in the morning then watching the first snow flakes fall this afternoon, a purring kitten curled up in my recycled material bag while I am still finishing the crocheted handles.
The list is too long.

little 'helps' - can change your day by being able to do them, having them done for you, or just hearing or reading about them.

My cat putting a paw out to gently stroke my face (with no trace of claws).
My new (second hand) car that isn't falling apart and can easily fit into my parking space at work.
My log fire.
My lovely comfortable bed.
Collecting my latest design from the printers.
A fine evening out with friends.
So much to be thankful for.

I've learned how to make gingerbread in my breadmaker!
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

My electric blanket, especially as the weather is going to be freezing for the foreseeable future! Now I look forward to going to bed rather than wishing I could sleep downstairs in the warmth of the fire.

Re: Little things that really please you!
being the first up in the morning and walking to the bus stop when the full moon is still up
sitting on the front step and watching the world go by with a hot cup of tea
seeing LO get excited over the simplest things - waves, the moon, the stars, bugs!
taking a walk on a fresh autumn morning
seeing the first shoots in spring,
the sun pouring in through my window as it sets
waking up in my own time ( not by a toddler or an alarm clock!)
having something to do... and finally completing a project whatever it is!
