If I remember correctly, I used a mix of cream and milk - plus loads of fruit. Basically you could make it just from banana milkshake, or a fruit yoghurt... A couple of times at shows there was this stall selling fresh frozen yoghurt - they had the frozen fruit there in bins, so you could choose that, and they mixed it in with the yoghurt there and then as it came out of the ice cream machine - delicious. Really fruity, and nowhere as sweet as it usually is. In this weather, why don't you keep trying out a different one every day?
I discovered some new ice cream from a local producer today - very, very, very good. Local cream, rasberries and oats (Crannachan Ice Cream, very Scottish). Just as well I can't buy it next door, otherwise I'd be tempted to have it too often. It's got toasted oatmeal in it.
