Just a query, I have just sown some leek seeds from a seed head that I saved last year. I have done this before, but it is a very fiddly job getting the tiny black seed out of the husks

So this year I did one row with the tiny seeds and another row with out bothering to remove the husk, which is a lot easier
My thinking is that in nature the husk would just fall to the ground so why not give it a try.
Has anybody else tried this
