Gunners... I read your post as leaky caravan - was only a quick glance tho lol...

Hope one of our portugese correspondents can help - otherwise why not try one of the online translators??

http://www.nickys-nursery.co.uk/seeds/pages/veg3.htm gives this info but states that full instructions are on package.

ORGANIC LEEK

Leek Carentan Organic
Approx 225 seeds
Sow March / April Harvest October to January
Maincrop winter vegetable. Large thick stems with blue-green foliage for cropping October to early January. Indoor sowings early under glass for exhibition work. Full growing instructions on packet.
£1.29 Add to basket

http://www.meadowmania.co.uk/default.cf ... dindex.112 is a very useful table for growing and harvesting!! I've bookmarked it.

Hope this helps.

Don't try an online translator unless you are desperate for a good laugh - they are hopeless for retrieving information! Anyway, can't think that leek varities differ that much from each other, so any basic instructions should do.

I'm keen to try 'Carentan',and managed to get some from Nicky's seeds (following a lead from this site-Ta! ).
These will be my late season leeks-I have 'Longbow' and 'King Richard' for earlies.
Several years ago,I had good results with 'Bulgarian Giant'-but these seem to be very difficult to get hold of now.

It means that this thread stays at the top of the list no matter what the last posting date. It is usually used for important notices that everyone should read! I will unsticky it now!
