Re: Solar Oven
thanks so much for posting this thread . its been a great help i am in the middle of constructing an oven not to cook with ( this is the uk after all , so lets not be too ambitious, but to put part cooked food in to finish , a bit like a slow cooker .) i am using a thick layer of polystyine as insulation and will see how it goes . if anyone else has made one and has any tips please let me know

Re: Solar Oven
Hi
How did you get on making your oven?
Did you have a chance to try it out in the weekend sunshine?
Does anybody know people who are successfully using solar ovens in the UK already?
I want to make a low-tech one (as Nev describes) in a couple of weeks, but would love to know of other people's experiences..
I'm down south (Cornwall) so that may be beneficial??

Re: Solar Oven
Do you think this kind of solar oven is better?
I think more solar heat it will supply.

Re: Solar Oven
i've got access to some scrapped satellite dishes and did wonder if the 'solar concentrator' idea might be quite a good one, but i wonder how practical they would be for real use
