You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

No, it's not - there's a world of difference between good rice and bad!

I'm excited cos I found a health food shop and got some BRAN so now I can add it to my bread!!! French flour if you sieve it doesn't have ANY bits in it at all; it's all too perfectly milled, even the organic wholemeal flour I bought direct from a local mill! :( The prices for things there were astronomical though. :(

Sorry, carry on talking about rice pudding now....

I cooked some ground rice pudding for the first time in about 20 years the other week!
Nothing really to do with the original post but just thought I'd share

It was delicious though yum with a bit of honey stirred in :thumbright:

MMM - can't you get wheat grain and mill your own? Might be cheaper in the long run, and you can dictate how rough you want it.

Oh gawd Ina, no way! Adding bran is much easier!

Oops and the high prices were at the health food store, not the mill. The mill was cheap!
