Growing Wheat

Hi all I make alot of bread but find the flour either too expensive or... plain crap. I would really like to grow some grain but as I start to read about it I get a bit confused and usually fall over. Has anyone had any experience with this, as any first hand advice would be a great help. Thanks all

Soya oil (process?)

Hey all, Not sure where to put this, im growing soy beans on my allotment to make soymilk and eat the beans too. But I was reading that you can make oil from soya beans (via compression somehow) then turn that into wax (out of my league as you need to hydrogenate it). But that got me thinking, I cou...

Tomato Glut

Hi all I have too many tomatoes, they are coming out of my ears at the moment, and rather than living on a 10 tomato a day diet for the next month and a half I was wondering if anyone can help me. How can I store the tomatoes? Any recipe for a sauce or other inventive way to keep them would be great...

Well im not sure yet, still waiting for the paperwork on my allotment, really wanting to start. Dont like the idea of slug pellets and im more inclined to take the long route of backyard science than the more conventional put plastic bottles over all my seedlings and doing night raids on the slugs. ...

Electric Slug Fence

I was thinking (in the strange way that my mind sometimes (mostly) works) that a step up from the copper protection I hear people talking about, would be to electrify said copper. On looking for schematics for making an electric fence and adapting it to an "Electric slug fence" I came acro...

Nice one, was very tasty.

Dug out a recipe book my grandma threw together and found the exact same thing in 40's handwrighting, must have been an old favourite back then too. :)

Ok after a few practice swings and different grips, I think I found a safe(ish) (to go along with the ish theme) way to use it, that is not to raise it too far off the groud before you swing it into the ground.

Still not a clue what im doing, but it will be fun, if only for the passers by haha

Ever seen the videos of them running a freight train (that weighs god knows how many 100s of tonnes) into a reactor core wall?.... and the train vapourises and leaves barley a scratch on the wall?

Now try the same with a plane that might as well be made of tinfoil.
