foster parents

Post: # 91414Post tim&fatima »

Our friend, who we had our chickens off last year, (imaginately named, chicken John) called us the other day to say he has a couple of broody hens and he does not have enough room to have any more sitters at the moment. and would we like to "have a go" so this evening we have taken in a new lodger with 5 eggs. apparently they have all ready gone 7 days.

When we picked them up, it took us half an hour to pull our daughter away from the chicks that had hatched only a few days ago.
it's mad to think that some 4yr olds think eggs come from a cow or Asda.
It's nice to be important,
But it's more important to be nice.

It'll be even more fascinating for her to watch them hatch! I've never seen that, either - but I know a few people who've got hooked on hatching...
