All the recipes i can find for plum brandy say putting plums in GIN??????????

The slivovic in Yugoslavia, Hoomin, is clear. Could have been vodka.
Essentially plum wine re-inforced with any spirits.

In parts of France they fortify red wine with damsons and then let time take its course to produce a syrupy plumy brandy rocket fuel.

I guess it's a regional thing, people using what they have to make some great hooch!

I do a cherry rumptoft every year, the ripest foraged cherries plus the cheapest rum or brandy. Use it over the winter. A mugful gently warmed in the microwave just before bedtime. Delicious delectable and delirious.
