Post: # 195350Post pelmetman »

Just had in our salad for tea raw Asparagus, it was very nice completely different to when its cooked, it was minutes fresh from our bed so whether it would as nice from the shop I don't know
Any other veg worth trying raw
Kind Regards

I love raw asparagus ... I get funny looks at the market eating asparagus and mushrooms as I buy them ...

I've never been a big courgette fan, but Muddywitch introduced me to the yellow variety last year & yes... they were nice. I wouldn't want to add them to everything though, but sliced raw & in a salad - yum!!
Even the little one loves them raw & has demanded that I grow them again this year, plus green ones and 'is there any other colours Nan?'
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden

Grated beetroot is nice. Apple (coated with lemon juice), but then they're normally eaten raw. Kohl rabi (grated once again) is gorgeous. Thinly sliced white cabbage, as long as it's mixed with other stuff. Carrot, leek, ... I could go on ... and on. I think it's probably safe to say to try anything raw (except potatoes, 'cos you need to destroy the starch).
