Exhausted!

Post: # 191603Post Green Aura »

Well folks, I've been away for a while, getting all my daughter's stuff packed up (there was an awful lot of it), cleaning the house and getting it ready to have another go at selling it. Older Ishers have already been through trying to sell it with me once, so my apologies to them.

I'm absolutely exhausted - we've been sleeping (badly) on her futon (not recommended for working folks  ) and eating supermarket sandwiches and takeaways (some pillock packed all the pans etc  ). We've had to deal with rude Estate Agents (he described the kitchen as dated - we only put it in last November!).

We didn't manage to get away from the house until 9pm on Saturday night so we didn't get to our stopover until 4am (great night for turning the clocks forward) The hotel receptionist was stunned that we wanted to check-in at that time. Did he think we would be better sleeping in the car? Then a friend kindly sent me a text at 8am reminding me to change the time on my phone - it pinged and woke us up! On the final leg we had to stop twice for a "power nap" to enable us to drive safely.

I can't believe how much I hated being back in "civilisation". We left her ex's bike outside overnight, not in obvious view, while we cleaned out the garage and it got nicked. Good job she won't have to see him again

Anyway, enough of my drivel. I'm so glad to be home, with all my family around me now. Just send me good vibes for selling the house, please.
Maggie

:hugish: Best of luck with your house sale (ours fell trough 5 times on the old place). worst bit is life being on hold while you stay tidy and stay in for viewings. Hopefully this is our feet first house  .

I hope you've 'neutralized' everything!  individual taste and character not allowed!

Well - all apart from the Cadbury's purple wall that my daughter kindly added to the living room   It was clean and would have needed 2-3 coats to cover and we just didn't have time.

And we won't be staying in for house viewings - we're 500 miles north! The cr4ppy Estate Agent can earn his 1.5% or £1600 - whichever is greater. Still, at least with none of us in it, it should stay fairly tidy

Thanks folks. Did I mention that I still don't have a shop or workshop - we'd just about cleared everywhere after the saga of the therapy room and now they're filled again with our gal's boxes and furniture. I'm supposed to open for Easter!!!!!!

Oh my goodness! How many hours is it to drive there? Glad you are back home and that your daughter is all sorted out, for now at least. Cross fingers the house will sell this time. :thumbright:

Glad to hear you are back home and with all the family around you now :flower: hope the house sells quickly.

I've been sleeping on an airbed for 3 weeks, so I understand your woes of being on a futon :pale:

Good luck and good vibes coming your way. :hugish: :hugish: :hugish:

It's so unsettling and things arent helped by the overpaid and over opinionated poxy estate agents.

Just a quick story you have reminded me, when hubby and i were in the process of buying our house, we were trying to arrange a time to speak with a certain estate agent. We asked for a 1o'clock appointment but she put us off until 1.30 saying she had an important meeting she had to go to. Anyway hubby and i turn up and park outside abut quarter past one to see this rather hefty woman emerging with bulging arms from the bakery and go into the estate agents. We walked in to find this woman was the one we needed to see   Her VERY important meeting was her obviously daily appointment with the bakery and several sausage rolls and dognuts! :pukeright: So my personal opinion of estate agents is a bit dim to say the least.

Well we all need to eat.....

1.5% is so low - it's 5% at least in France, usually the buyer pays though that's dependent on region. Then about 7% notaires fees on top for the buyer, more if you need a mortgage.
