I went to college in Bournville in Birmingham, which in those days was right next door to the Cadburys factory. We were allowed in to buy seconds from the staff shop but having been sitting in class all day with a very strong smell of chocolate wafting past I don't think many students took them up on it.
I would be very interested to find out what the Diabetic Society recommend in the everyday v "diabetic" chocolate debate.
