One of my woodwork teachers fastened a lads fingers in a wood vice until he confessed to the crime. Don't know if the's any research to back up your theory. Perhaps you could apply for lottery funding to continue your line of enquiry. By involving the children in measuring, recording and interpreting results you could cover a number of science objectives .....
