First off, I turn my ankle on some uneven pavement - walk another couple of steps and turn the same ankle again - resulting in a HUGE spillage of me, bag, books, purse and keys all over the pavement and a couple of expletives to boot.
Manage to pick myself up along with my things - spend a couple of minutes putting all artefacts in relevant storage places so that I don't chuck them all over the place again before I arrive at the car - then carry on with a slightly hurty ankle and dimples where I'd landed on my hands.
When I got to the car I realised (after a moments panic) that I had lost my house/car keys. Had to limp back to the location of 'the fall' (only to turn my ankle for a 3rd time in the same blessed spot) to find my keys had gone. I spent another 30 seconds (seemed like ages) having a mild confused hot sweat until I heard 'Excuse me, have you lost some keys' being bellowed across the street from an office entrance.
Thankfully, some wonderfully considerate person had picked them up, handed them in at the office as it was the nearest place, to be followed by another equally wonderful person who had the forethought to let me know where my keys were when she saw me looking for something. I would never have thought to go there and ask if anyone had handed them in - preferring instead to believe that, in this day and age, someone would have just run off with them.
Anyway, the point is, there are still some fantastically nice people out there. I have no idea who they were but wanted to say a public thank you for preventing what could have been, at least, incredibly inconvenient for me.
I was thinking about what I could do to pay it forward. I tend to do the usual spontaneous things like treating people like I want to be treated but does anyone have any suggestions on how I can proactively pay it forward?

Cheers,
