Me and OH got engaged just before Christmas - dress from ebay for £80, making own invitations (also ebay - can you spot a theme developing? :lol: ) for about £20, asking for donations of food from local keepers and fishing friends so big buffet party thing after the ceremony shouldn't be pricey either. Keeping it small and local. We might go wild camping or kayak over to one of the north coast islands for our honeymoon, haven't decided yet :cheers:

That's roughly how my brother did it, too - and why not? He didn't even take the afternoon off... Went straight to the registrar's after work, invited a couple of friends (colleagues) along, and that was it. Next to no cost at all.
