Re: Earth Hour 2009
Nice video! Try not to burn the tablecloth this time :flower: No candles anywhere near the table at all this time I think! As a side note, I don't know if other people do this too but last year I turned off everything electrical during Earth Hour (not just the lights). I went round and unplugg...

Re: Earth Hour 2009
Thank you for the reminder! I did this last year (and burnt a small hole in my tablecloth with a tealight ) and will definitely do it again. I'll try and spread the word.

Re: Save my basil!
No! Either bring your window boxes inside or start again - sow the seeds in a pot inside in the warmth near a window for the light, as they won't germinate outside in these temperatures! Then you can prick them out into the windowbox outside in May. :flower: Thanks MMM. :) I can't really bring the ...

Re: Save my basil!
How big are your plants? You could try wrapping them in bubble wrap & popping the cut-off bottle back on if they aren't too big, just at night. MW Thank you :flower: Well, so far they aren't plants at all, I just put the seeds in last week! But I could put bubble wrap over the soil... Would tha...

Save my basil!
Ok, so I live in a small flat with no balcony. Last week, I bought a couple of window boxes and got very excited and planted some herbs in one of them. This included basil... I know that basil should not be planted outside until after there is no more chance of frost. Even the seed packet suggested ...

Re: Self Sufficientish Weddings
Flowers: You may not be able to grow your own, but something that we did that was nice was have growing plants rather than cut flowers. We planted them afterwards. We had a lovely apple tree at the front of the church (very ish) and then we got to continue to enjoy our flowers growing the in the gar...

Re: Another reason to go cloth.....
I'm expecting a baby in July and think this is something I'd like to try when I need to do lots of washes for nappies anyway! Like Annpan, I'm not sure about using this for no.2, but I've got 'til July to think it over and I find the more you consider this sort of thing, the more it seems to be norm...
