Is it a triffid or what

Is it a triffid or what

Post: # 106628Post Silver Ether »

I have a plant that growing like mad ... I didn't plant it ... Does anyone have any ideas what it is? Currently stands at 3 footish and has very spiky thorns on it's stem and under its leaves. No sign of a flower yet... oh nearly forgot ... it collects water where the leaves join the stem, a bit like a bromiliad (sp)

It could easily be a teasel. It looks like a teasel. Wait for it to flower, then you'll know if it's a teasel.

EDIT: In case I didn't give the right impression, it's a teasel.

Oh so that's what it is. I was going to say it's a weed, cos I've got a couple like that growing beside a tree stump! Keep meaning to chop it off but never get around to it!

Will it flower and have those teasel heads that goldfinches love?
