Yep, another Aussie newbie here popping in to say G'day

Hubby and I live in Brisbane, Queensland. Have 3 boys who've all left the nest now but still visit regularly (you know, washing, food, money etc. lol).

Great site you have here guys! And it's nice to see a name I recognise from down under. Am familiar with Nev through his contributions to Grass Roots, having been an avid reader of the mag for almost 20 years.



Have a feeling I'm going to enjoy this site very much and look forward to making some new friends

Thats to be expected. Aussies have acres and acres of lovely, untapped sunshine going to waste.

Mind you I should still be nice to em. I'm loking to install a wind generator after I've finishd with the solar hot water.

Maybe the Aussie invasion does have something to do with the temperatures... I remember the times (middle ages, or so...) when I was a student and couldn't afford to heat my flat properly, the PC just didn't work in winter. But that was before the invention of internet!

Anyway, Australia is a lovely place, and we are all jealous of your climate - except when it gets too hot and dry, and you have bushfires, and not enough water, and sandstorms. Living in a temperate and wet place is quite nice, too. Sometimes.

Welcome to the forum. I must say I loved Brisbane and the surrounding area when I visited a number of years ago. I had a friend who lived in Albany Creek, but has now moved out into the sticks.

Heaps glad you are here, as I was beginning to feel like I was coming in from another planet. These folks are all putting their spuds to bed at the mo and their weather has them inside doing arty and crafty things... That's why they're no good at cricket, you know...

What you up to down there? We just had a really spectacular storm last night. So spectacular, I was too scared to go and take any pics I'm thinking you lot should start getting quite a bit of water down your way soon.
