Who has snow?

Post: # 7611Post Millymollymandy »

We had a couple of inches which is a couple of inches more than last winter - only a light sprinkling then.

The hens decided they didn't like snow - good thing as I didn't want them out in it!

It's put paid to the daffodil planting I was going to do but thankfully I got the garlic in the day before (I'm always behind but even more so having been in England recently).

Friday seemed bizarre because I couldn't do any work outside. That's unheard of!

No snow here this weekend-just loads and loads of rain, which has kept me away from the allotment.

None in Essex yet, although it was pretty flippin freezing on Friday. I think it is very beautiful and the children love it, but it's horrible if you have to get anywhere!

Nev, we know you are jealous! And with the current unpredicability of the world's climate you could end up with 4 inches of snow yet!!

There's no doubt about it - snow can make the scenery spectacularly beautiful.

Masses of snow Thursday and Friday, at least 15 cm, and more in drifts - all gone on Saturday. Masses of snow again today... And quite a storm.

Friday the road nearby that goes over a rather steep hill was closed; it's always one of the three first ones in Scotland to close. This morning I had to go to the dentist, who, unfortunately, lives at the other end of this hill road - a trip that usually takes 40 minutes was 1.5 hours. I'm getting good at driving in second gear. If it hadn't been for the dentist (always glad to get an appointment!), I wouldn't have ventured out at all.

But as Stew said: It looks spectacular. When I can see it. Visibility is often nil - what with the wind blowing the stuff about!

We're with you, Nev!

We do get a dusting most winters though, and it was actually almost a frost here yesterday morning.

Ok, I'm off to the beach now! Yes, really! :sunny:

We got a dusting tonight, but it's now stopped and my temp guage says... 2.4 at the mo. I reckon it'll freeze and be very slippery tomorrow morning. I will be walking everywhere and not driving (or rather sliding!)
