Hello
Hello
Hello everybody,
I registered a while a go but I've only just got round to posting this as I'm in the middle of exams. I'm studying Herbal Medicine in Scotland - just finishing 3rd yr - one more to go...
One exam and one essay and then I'll be freeeeee for the Summer so hopefully be able join in more then.

Changes on a daily basis! The official answer is to practice as a Herbalist but sometimes I think I'd rather be a gardener - maybe i'll do both...marshlander wrote:Hello Mullein!
I's love to have studied herbal medecine formally, what is your long term ambition?

Gosh ... didn't know herbs got that sick ...

You can do an honours degree in Glasgow at the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine or in Edinburgh at Napier Uni. I'm at Napier - it's a mind-numbing commute but it's not forever.ina wrote:Hiya Mullein - welcome to the Ishers!
Whereabouts in Scotland can you study herbal medicine?
(And just ignore MKG's remark - you'll get used to him...)
Thanks for the welcome folks

So I suppose you don't live in Edinburgh... Had no idea there was a degree course for that - you live and learn! Well, be prepared we'll come to you with all sorts of questions!!!
I have an ancient book on herbs and what you can do with them - mind you, it's a German book, so I suppose some of the herbs might not be so common here - but I've found it very valuable. The drawings and the descriptions of the plants are brilliant, too - better than I've found in some modern books with pretty photographs!

Hmm, a course on herbal medicine - sounds fascinating!
Love the idea of any form of more contemporary medicine, hence doing a hypnotherapy course. Good luck with the rest of the course!
Oh and by the way, welcome
