Virtually fat free "ice-cream"

You all seem to be such proficient chefs. Well here is a place to share some of that cooking knowledge. Or do you have a cooking problem? Ask away. Jams and chutneys go here too.

Virtually fat free "ice-cream"

Post: # 101995Post Thomzo »

Just perfected this. Yum

It's one of those "ice-creams" that sets fairly hard so you will have to take it out of the freezer about 20 mins before you use it. I freeze in individiual portions to make that easier.

250g quark
250g low fat fromage frais
2 tbsp caster sugar
1tsp vanilla essence

Mis together and pop in the ice-cream maker. IF you haven't got a machine then you'll have to do the beating-it-regularly thing I guess.

Do bear in mind that I have a sweet tooth so you might want to vary the sugar content.

I've just made a batch with a stalk of lavendar flowers crushed in and some frozen raspberries added - delicious. I'm eating it out of the ice-cream maker as I type this.

Enjoy
Zoe

Thanks, Milims. Not sure I could describe it.

Oh - here we go, from the pot, "virtually fat free soft cheese". It's a bit like flavourless cream cheese.
