Early early broad beans

Post: # 101401Post MKG »

I've been meaning to mention this for a while but kept forgetting. And I'm probably teaching Granny to suck eggs, but ... do you all know that you can eat broad beans, pod and all, when they're about 3 to 4 inches long? And they're absolutely delicious. This from a mature broad bean despiser.

Broadbeans

Yes, certainly agree. The tops of the plants can also be used as early greens and cooked in a little butter. Tastes good. I love broad beans also because of their early season produce. Yum!
