Gunners, I'd love to be able to give you proper advice, but all I can say is - I also intend to plant some, hopefully no later than next weekend, and I'm just going to stick them in the ground and see what happens... From what I've heard, they'll grow anyway. And with all that rain we've had lately, I don't think I'll need to bother with soaking! Just hope there won't be frost when I finally have a daytime hour to get the seeds in.

Good luck
Ina

just plant them...that's what I did about 3 weeks ago and now I have 2 rows of little bean plants. I did the same last year and got a small amount of frost damage...even after the snows here in the north west of England...and a really good crop of beans. I planted some more in Feb and they did no better than the november planted ones....I didsn't cover them or anything.....as the old guy on my allotments said.." just plant 'em and leave 'em". Good luck

Got mine in today - very busy all last week, and anyway, today has been the first frostfree day for a while. We can compare notes next spring, how they are all doing in the varying parts of the country...

A friend said he once didn't get round to planting them til January, but they did quite well.
