Marshlander: our growing season here in Ontario varies due to weather of course, and area, but on average is from May-October. At the moment in this part of the province the ice and snow have melted, but wet snow is in the forecast for early next week. :( Thank you for the kind welcome! :flower:

I was thinking of Leslie Land's garden in Cushing, Maine USA - of course, you're even further north! It was reading The 3000 mile garden that started me growing heritage tomatoes - must put in a recommendation for this book while I think of it!

thanks everyone for the welcome!!! great to be able to chat across the miles!!! our April weather here in Ontario, Canada is being typical. our pleasant Spring days will be returning to winter for a while by the weekend and into early next week-snow mixed with rain.
My list of garden plants and seeds is ready--now it's wait for temperatures to co-operate for planting time--most likely mid to late May. Wish me luck for having patience. Hugs. :flower:
