Dave's band - Vontergarten
If you're a fan of Kraftwerk you might like the new band I've formed with my mate Dom - 'Vontergarten' - a sort of Kraftwerk parody. The myspace is http://www.myspace.com/vontergarten or type Vontergarten into Youtube.
We play under the guises of Karl Grimes and Brinan Steinan and are from (where else) Berlin!

Well I can't speak for all of Germany but Berlins got a great night life, a transport system that can get you from one side of the country to the other for next to nothing, brilliant veggie food, friendly people, cheap places to stay, lots of park-land and a fascinating history.
Oh the beer's good as well.

OK, I admit it - they are not bad at all! There's a German "Meisterbaecker and Konditor" (something like Master baker and confectioner) with a place near Edinburgh - I really have to make an effort and get there some time this year.... He is very, very popular from what I hear.mrsflibble wrote: Nussecken.
I only went to Berlin once - over 30 years ago, long before the wall fell. I think it's changed a lot since then. But you are right about the history.
