I am embarrised to say I like this tune

Post: # 96378Post Andy Hamilton »

 me an my girlfriend emma have our tune and wellit's not very ish.

For the purists out there it is a version of the supertramp song and yes I know full well that it is a bit rubbish.

But this song and the silly electronic beats, speeded up vocals makes me smile and reminds me of when we first got together.

Anyone else have a worse song with memories attached? * birdy song not allowed **

I have embarrasing likings of 'back for good' by Take That... I tend to like a song writing style, above anything else... Dolly Parton's 'I will always love you' is a beautiful song but I don't put it quite in the same league as the tear jerkers 'all by my self' and 'can't live, if living is without you' (I forget who they are by)

I hate nearly all music with a repetitive electronic drum beat (ie 'dance' music)

Our song is either
'Boom Shake the Room' by Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince - first song we danced to together
'forgot the name of song  Barry White - the first song we danced together as an item(we had been best buds for about a year)
'It had to be you' (Harry Connick jnr being my favourite version) The first dance at our wedding.

That sounds right thanks

It was written by two guys, best friends, they were in a band, but they never had a hit with it.
Don' quote me on this, as it was at least 10 years ago but....
I watched a documetry about it.... they wrote it about their girlfriends who had walked out on the at the same time while the 4 of them were on holiday. They got back together with the girlfriends, but both ended up commiting suicide because of argument over who wrote the song - it is one of the highest grossing songs ever, and they both died without seeing a penny of it.
Makes the song that much more poingent

I walked down the aisle to Sometimes by James, it remoinds us both of so many great times we've had together 'cos it's on one of our most played minidisks.
(watch the video here)

and we signed the register to "500 miles" by the proclaimers 'cos everything in the song says what we wanted to say to eachother. (and that's here for those who don't know it; you know, the people who live in caves etc)

So I guess they're "our" songs lol!

and I'm sorry to say that I happen to love scooter and have Andy's posted song on one of my other most played minidisks. although my fave scooter song is "weekend" purely 'cos of the line "respect to the man in the ice cream van, yeah!"
(not suitable for work; has boobs in it)

our song is "You're still the one" by Shania Twain. We were supposed to dance to it for our wedding, but dh lost the disc. The song could as easily have been "That don't impress me much..."
"yum, yum, piggy's bum!"

We don't really have a song, but I used to play stuff by Tangerine Dream when we were in my bedroom at home..........

The very thought of Tangerine Dream as seduction music has put a big smile on my face. Thanks for that Nev. Did you follow it with Gong by any chance?

Our tune is probably the Plump DJ's version of the Donna Summer classic - I Feel Love.

They were very hippy-trippy-psychedelic and favoured tea-pot artwork from what I remember of my sister's collection. :dave:
