Environment releated masters - inc bushcraft

Post: # 84989Post Andy Hamilton »

Got this email the other day and thought it might be of some interest here.
Hi Andy.

I lecture in geography and environmental politics at Keele University.

I am flying a kite for a a residential research institute organised
around a suite of environment-related Masters programme (see
www.oneplanetinstitute.com <http://www.oneplanetinstitute.com>). The
academic side is mostly quite conventional. However the setting and
format is like nothing else in any UK university ( and i think the
world). Anyway the website is not a blueprint - but a vehicle for market
research. I need 500 or so responses from possible students in order to
develop a business plan and take a more narrowly focused version to a
university. They will need some convincing!

I would really be very grateful if you would accept a reciprocal link.
And if you would circulate the link among any friends who you think
might be interested, that would be even better.

I would also be very interested in any comments or suggestions.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Yours sincerely

RE: MASTERS DEGREES in BUSHCRAFT, HUMAN ECOLOGY, SUSTAINABILITY AT THE
ONE PLANET INSTITUTE

www.oneplanetinstitute.com <http://www.oneplanetinstitute.com>

Are you interested in the sustainability? How about human ecology or
bushcraft? Perhaps you are pondering some of the big questions about
human beings and planet earth? Do you want to do a Masters degree?

The One Planet Institute is a radical concept combining a suite of
environment-related Masters courses with an innovative ‘residential
programme’ organized around the operation of a self-sufficient
smallholding. A variety of complementary activities will include
foraging & bushcraft, music, woodland management, field botany, and
natural history. Such visceral and collective engagement with the
natural world will function to 'educate the attention' of students,
animating formal academic study whilst promoting a self-sustaining
culture of reflection and debate. Masters degrees will be offered in a
range of overlapping subjects from Sustainable Development and Human
Ecology to Bushcraft Studies.
