swedes

Post: # 6194Post diver »

anyone know how best t ostore swedes through the winter. I am told they don't freeze well and anyway my freezers are full. Can I wrap them up and put them in the cellar with the spuds, onions etc or do I really need to sort out some space in the freezer?

Sorry - haven't got a clue - but most books seem to say store veg in straw - dry boxes - with gaps between so they don't touch each other
Hope that helps?

I would just leave them in a cool, dry, dark place. I think you could even leave them in the ground until before the frosts start - but that's difficult to know, isn't it! Anyway, they must store well, otherwise they wouldn't have been in such abundant supply during the war, which is why for decades nobody wanted to eat them anymore...

Maaaaate!

How can you say that? We have the most attractive women in the world here! Except perhaps for the ladies on this forum, of course.

Anyway, I thought the Swedish women were much like IKEA - cheaper, but you have to do most of it yourself.

This thread is a lot more fun than a discussion about boring swede vegetables!
