I have a large item i wish to sell; my cookworks table top dishwasher.
ebay is not suitable...
which would you think would work best:
1. a big sign in my front garden saying "table top dishwasher for sale, £60 ONO enquire inside or phone 07********* or 01*********" and a picture,
or
2. actually spend money on an advert somewhere like my local paper?!
I am at a loss!
I know about freecycle but...

how about Gumtree.com ? i think adverts there are free, and it's a pretty well known site, and they have Gumtree sites for different areas.

You could also have a look to see if you have a local site on www.itsmymarket.com, they do free listings. Although I have tried a couple of things and no luck so far
Or, a notice in your local newsagents? I think that most only charge about a £1, some are free.

it might be worth checking with your local paper as they may offer free classified adverts. In our local paper we can advertise anything up to £100 for free and I know that other areas do this too...so might be worth a phone call

the newspaper idea did hit me, but as i want more than £25 for this thing they will charge me 'cos the echo are money hungry bum heads... no, no. i did not say that about my former employer lol!!!
free ads: possibility.
newsagent: I had so not thought of that, i need o go up that way tomorrow anyway so that's my first port of call!
still gonna do a sign too though i think. we get a lot of people walk past our house in the mornings because we are enroute to the station.
