help with new battery bank and inverter/charger

Post: # 77518Post mew »

Hi people

We had 1.56kw PV array put on the roof in April 07. It is grid tied via a Fronius IG15, more about this can be found on www.bettergeneration.co.uk.

What I'd like to do now is use a battery bank to charge up in the day via my panels and at night use the power via the inverter charger to power some circuits in the home.

I went on the studer-inno website and they seem have the solution i'd like called the solsafe.

Can anyone advise in respect of this or what products are best for the job?

dunno if you got sorted yet mew. from my experience the studer inverter/chargers, whilst being a fantastic piece of kit are a nightmare to program, i've yet to meet anyone who can understand the manual (even though it has been revised several times) if you are good with programing, old TVs, videos etc where the instructions are translated from japanese you'll be ok  if like me you are over 50 and a bit thick then get a 'TRACE'
please bear in mind when reading this post that i'm a taurus so prone to talking bull.

fork-lift batteries are often used by people in your situation - they're built to take years of abuse!
http://solarwind.org.uk - a small company in Sussex sourcing, supplying, and fitting alternative energy products.
Amateurs encouraged - very keen prices and friendly helpful service!
