Thanks Fee!
well, why did I start up this (and other) thread(s) in the first place? It seems to me it is about high time changes are made in the way we do things. Too much pollution, too much waste, you know the story.
However, contrary to what a lot of people might think, changes do not have to be dramatically drastic. Sure, it is necessary to bring down the energy consumptions, but more importantly: we should simply start using others sources for our energy needs. Solar and wind energy are a very good start.
Turtuga Blanku uses solar power exclusively in the little studio called 'Green Machine' to produce music. And I do need a lot of electrical gear to do so. So, basically what I am trying to say is it is rather easy to keep on realizing what you want to realize, also when using alternative energy sources.
I am sure I am preaching to the choir here, but I am also sure there is quite a lot of people, even on this forum, who do not realize how easy it is to step over to generating alternative energy.
Okay, in all honesty, I live in the Caribbean, meaning, lot's of sunshine. So for me solar energy is a far more realistic option then someone living in, say..Ireland, or a similar "dark" place (no offense meant

).
But...there is alway other ways of generating energy on a environmentally friendly way, or combination of ways. Wind energy or maybe even wave-energy are possible alternatives if you live in a place a bit less sunny.
So, again, what I try to do with Turtuga Blanku music, is to show that alternative energy does not mean limitations.. I want to show that very enjoyable and energetic music can be made out of sun rays.
I'm sure there's more people around using fresh and environmentally ways to be creative. I'd like to ask you all to stand up and let people know about it.
Alternative energy use is being discussed a lot lately, but I know a lot of people keep on being "scared" of the unknown. I use Turtuga Blanku music to try to..normalize (if you will) the idea of using alternative energy and solar energy in particular.
Check out the music (more songs will be placed on the internet a.s.a.p), check out the myspace site (an official Turtuga Blanku website is currently under construction), and see how alternative energy use goes together very well with pleasant music production.
And again, show your own creative use of alternative energy! The more people hear about it, the more they get to know about it and the more they get used to it. Also, the more people will actually start to use it them selves. Prices of materials for, e.g. solar power systems will drop when demand is starting to become higher, and it will be feasible to even more people. That is the idea (and one of my goals) anyway.
cheers! :)
