Hiya

We love hearing from you, so here is your chance. Introduce yourself and tell us what makes you selfsufficient 'ish'. Go on don't be shy, we welcome one and all. You can also tell us how you heard about us if you like.

Hiya

Post: # 72124Post Esme »

Hi everyone, I'm Maggie but so many people call me Es(me) I answer to that! I have a deep interest in being able to be as self sufficient as possible, I've been like this since I was little - nearly a half century ago. I make my own cheeses, butter, bake bread and stuff like that and am famous for saying, "You can't pay THAT for that - I can make/bake/grow fix it for a fraction of the price!" My home brew is famous - or perhaps infamous should be the right word, lol; and my kids never asked for a plaster to put on a childhood wound because chances are I would put some home remedy on it instead. . .
I keep a horse too, who is trained to do useful things but actually is just a pet and has rarely done a day's work in her life

Welcome form another Newbie - I am new to the self sufficient'ish lifestyle, I want to make sure we and our children eat as much of our own home grown food as possible, as well as learning how much better it tastes and what you get out from putting in a bit of hard work.

We have found also spending time doing this over last year it makes you slow down a bit and look at what is important. We both work full time so always seem to be very busy.

Take care
JR
