Time to Stand and Stare

Post: # 66301Post Thurston Garden »

Part of me embarking on this venture was to slow down. Be less stressed. Enjoy the simple things which I was beginning to ignore/forget.

Tonight when feeding the pigs, I spent a good half hour just standing watching them eat, then watch the clouds roll past, listening to the birds in the woods, all with the dog lying at my feet. It was pleasantly warm with a nice refreshing breeze. How lucky I am, I thought. :king:

Perhaps I should just stand and stare more often.

oh yes a bit of just watching is good for the soul...and I still chuckle every evening when the chooks run for their wheat before bed!

Good for you TG!

I dont think it matters where u live in the world, daily life in general tends to get in the way of remembering how beautiful things can be. Its absolutely gorgeous here but its only every now and then something grabs me, I look around and think the same as u, how lucky am I to be here. It needs to be done more often!

It is great to stand and watch. I love watching Finlay with a bone, or even watching my fishes eat their food. There's something relaxing about it - especially with animals, it really relaxes me to watch them enjoyng their food and being happy. I love seeing happy animals.

I spend too much time standing and staring, at my garden and my chooks and ducks! I need to spend more time doing things!

I love sitting in my garden just staring at the plants or watching the trees. But it never lasts long as I always see a weed to be pulled or something that needs pruning and off I go again.

While I was off I spent some time watching the chooks dig up a new patch. Yep there is something about animals.

When we went over to Europe the year before last, the family left a few days before me, the cat and chooks were boarded out and the back yard seemed somehow lifeless.......it was just me by myself!

I know what you mean Nev. When I let the chooks out in the garden it comes alive somehow.
