Bring back programme timings!

Do you think The Good Life could be remade, with me or Dave playing Tom Good (maybe not!)? If you have seen something on TV or heard something on the radio recently that you want to talk about, tell us here.

Bring back programme timings!

Post: # 66053Post Martin »

Having perused the TV listings for today, I decided there was precisely nothing worth wasting the amps on, EXCEPT for the news, just to see how the floods are doing - 7.35 it says - News!
Here am I, eighteen minutes later watching in bewilderment the aftermath of some bunch of brainless dorks pushing balls down holes with sticks................it finished AGES ago.........why oh why, when the insufferably boring proceedings were over ages ago, do they persist in overrunning? It'd be one thing if it was still a nail-biter, but ............. :?
Golf - ruination of a good walk!

25 minutes late.........what's the carbon footprint of that then? - 4 million goggle boxes, switched on for 25 needless minutes........... :?
And the priorities.........boring "sports reporters" wittering on being more important than dreadful floods..........I despair!

Martin, Martin..... they were waiting for the engravers to engrave the winner's name on the cup.

I had no idea such things actually happened like that, done by hand, in this day and age!!! (to be honest, I just don't think about things like that at all, but it surprised me!).

And no I wasn't really watching, but the OH has been watching golf all weekend except for when he was watching the F1. :sleepy1:

the bit I can't understand is WHY???????........... the match was over, finished, kaput before the scheduled ending, why do we have to suffer the bally engraver, and innumerable brainless reporters wittering on for nearly half an hour - who cares?
You mean you actually have someone who watches it? - He's the first person ever of my acquaintance who does...........
I've noticed this with most televised "sports" - there it is, days of it - football, snooker, tennis etc - it wipes other vaguely watchable stuff off the screen, sometimes for weeks on end, and I honestly don't know anyone who watches the stuff! (until now!)
