those tomatoes are looking manky too - so frustrating... things I have always grown like toms and courgettes are suffering... courgettes have the mosiac virus thing.. indoor toms in the new gh have just not set that well - I put that down to terrible weather back along - I have about one tom on each vine on the gardeners delight. the plum toms are better.. but take much longer to mature... dont think i shall be dealing with a tomato or courgette glut this year. mind you just this morning picke another courgette.. one of those sneaky ones that hid under a leaf until they are big! so have had a few at least... but at least I have been successful at things I was never good at before - we had a mountain of peas last night.. yum.. and first harvest of calabrese. perhaps its different place different successes? or perhaps its bad year for veg.. or perhaps its me....

Nice one! I love the old greenhouse - I'd love to have one even if it was falling down.

I put together a similar tour of our croft yesterday.

It's a bad year for vegetables. Our big problem up here has been a lack of sunshine, very cool weather since April, and too much wind.

Add in rabbits, pigeons, mice, slugs and the rapidly increasing likelihood of potato blight...

Still, the upside is that the weather has meant no repeat of previous years' cabbage moth infestations. There's always a bright side!

Nice piccies Stoney. Have you told Andy about his crap apple? He isn't getting on the site very often because of his RSI and writing the book.

thanks for the nice comments

Stoney - your place is looking well - yeh its been a bad year - we have had trouble with slugs, birds (jackdaws reek havoc here - we even had to net our peas)the weather first too hot then the wind took out my beans and I had to start over.. and the colllllld. but we are at least eating our own veg . Yeh I love the old gh - but it is in terrible state - the wood is rotten and therefore propped up inside, and we had to replace the end windows with temporary perspex fix so that it could be used this year - was gaping hole before that. notice the 'little caves' in the wall? they are bee boles - exciting bit of history.
we hope to replace it like for like..when time and money allows.

Cassie- we moved here in Sept - so thats definitely a head start. The new greenhouse and the digging was done since Feb - dug all by spade, as we were doing sheep fencing, replacing flloor and ceiling in house etc before that.
