Hi Guys

Post: # 62379Post Chippychap »

Hi,
My name is Ken from Todmorden in the old West Riding of Yorkshire.
Me and my much better half have just moved out into the "sticks" and this grow as much as you can ideal has finally got a chance to be made real.
One thing I have just read is an article by "Mike" on keeping hens and much respect to him as a "doer".
May I recommend a web site to an organisation that rehomes ex-battery hens? http://www.thehenshouse.co.uk/
It is, IMHO, a wonderful aim for so many reasons, please take a look.
By the way I have no connnection to them, just think it's a great thing to support.
Looking forward to sharing with you all.

Hi cippychap, nice name.

One of my mates has taken on some ex battery chickens and is pretty happy with them.

Thanks for the warm welcome,
In another life, in another galaxy far far away we ran a fish and chip shop, call it a miss-spent adult-hood.
I am going to continue bobbing around your great site and plan our future
Some of our practice crops are in, salad leaves, herbs, broad-beans and tomatoes. Trying to see what works etc.
Much of our stuff came from Freecycle and I am trying to keep the donators informed of the progress.
This seems to be one of those things that you cannot just bimble with, you have to put your head under the surface as a paddle just won't do. :geek:
