Big Green Gathering

Post: # 59958Post Martin »

haven't been around much lately - been rather busy!
I have literally just received confirmation that we are going to be at the BGG this year, as part of the festival - we're taking a rather nifty solar-powered shower unit, situated somewhere in the crafts area for the duration of the festival!
Come and say hello, and grab a shower! :dave:
(the showers will be free, with pukka eco shower gel and shampoo laid on - there'll be a bucket for donations to Water Aid at the door) :cooldude:
If ssfers want to get in touch with each other there, let me know, and I'll bung a messageboard up somewhere! :flower:

Welcome back Martin - you've been missed.

Your shower sounds great but sadly I'll need to find one closer to home and won't be at BGG. Hope it goes well :)

thanks! :cooldude:
Really have been silly busy! This is just the first festival announcement - we're awaiting confirmation of our presence at the Workhouse Festival in Wales the week after Glastonbury, we're definitely doing a local water festival at Arlington on 14th July, and there's a possibilty of another local one....... :drunken:
We're eagerly awaiting getting our hands on one of the new Samrey Mistral turbines - one of the first in the country (should have it with us at the Workhouse Festival) - and just for light relief have been working too - and then there's the "little green shed" that's sprouting in my back garden...(that's a book in itself!) :geek:
And nary a teapot in sight these days!

*cough* try the 'what's going on' board - i'm arranging a meetup picnic with a flag and every thing!

I've been wondering where you were lately too, glad to know that you're still about!

Hope to see you there...we got our confirmation a couple of weeks ago. I've got to get our coach tickets back to London sorted out, and we'll be going great guns!

I've just read that you're going to have showers!!!

*puts travel towel on the shopping list*

Marvellous. I might not have to braid all my hair to stop it looking crap then!

AND hopefully free eco shower gel and shampoo too! :cooldude:
Working on providing some solar (PV) powered sounds as well!
I must admit to some degree of self-interest in this - having queued for hours last year for a tepid shower, whilst being showered with icy water by a large lady having a cold shower next door, I decided that proper showers have got to be a must at any festival - after a day or three your hair gets to that "itchy" phase, when you'd sell your Grannie for a shower!

absolutely, that's why i had dreads in last year, and i was planning to put braids in this year - it gets it all out of the way and stops it looking filthy.

The only problem i had was my feet - because i was wearing sandals/bare feet, my feet were black after a day or two.
