Omega Linseed and Flax

Post: # 57850Post Bezzie »

Now that I've finally stopped talking about it and got my brood, I'm curious as to how best to get the Omega strain going through them.

Locally it's difficult to get hold of the organic feeds with added Omega, however, i do know that the feed is using Linseed to get this added value into the meal. I've read that some of you are making your own mixes and adding Linseed/Flax to it, so can I assume its reasonably readily available in quantity from a country store?

Secondly, I've taken pullets instead of POL. At what point can I start adding the Linseed to their feed so that we get the Omega benefit from their meat as well as the eggs? :?
