Europe or Bust

Post: # 57670Post Nikki »

Hi everyone,

It's wonderful to have found this Forum. I've lived in the UK (East Midlands) for the last 12 years but now we're making a move to Eastern Europe.

We're going from a Victorian terrace in the city, to anything from 1-2 acres and a stone house up a mountain.

We are total noobs at this and are still looking at land. I've been reading as much as I can, goats, chickens, fencing, alternative energy, you name it.

I have a million and 1 questions before we even leave England, I can only imagine they'll increase over time. Im thinking we'll be 'ish' for a few years, if not always. We'll take it as it comes.

Great to be here.

Hi Nikki,

Eastern Europe? Which country is that nowadays? It all gets a bit blurred for me past the Netherlands (in fact once or twice it's got a bit blurred IN the Netherlands, but that's another story..)

I'm sure you'll have plenty of nail-biting moments in the next few years, but in my experience it's well worth it.

Welcome to the forum.

Jeremy.

Hi Nikki and Welcome.

My paternal grandfather came from Montenegro-little place called Cetinje.

He was a farmer at heart and had a small dairy farm when he came to Canada.

So I guess its genetic that I'm farming now!

Good luck with your venture and if you need to know about donkeys-please ask me.

 Lois

Hence the 'yugo' in yugogypsy?

Yes, I know Cetinje - via internet and DH visiting. DH's family is Serbian, so we have the language advantage.

I will keep in mind that you know about donkeys! lol Funnily, I was wondering about them just yesterday. I was thinking about horses and that donkeys would be much more prevalent there.

Nice to meet you. :dave:
