Solar power station

Post: # 56173Post Andy Hamilton »

Yep that is right a power station over in Spain that uses the suns rays to get electricity. Might be enough to power 600 000 homes eventually.

I guess this is a step in the right direction, though I feel that given the amount of sun we have (I live in Granada province, not far from Sevila) the emphasis should be on microgeneration as any power station still requires all those overhead cables the Spanish are so fond of (and possibly have health implications).

IMHO - though that is more often the maniacal diatribe of a fanatic these days - the ONLY places that should be entitled to mains electricity are those places where life and death depends on having reliable electricity supplies.
